Stunning obelisk
From the packaging to the shipping the whole buying experience was positive. The obelisk is stunning. This is the first time I’ve bought something like this from Amazon because we have a lovely crystal and gem shop a few miles from my house but they didn’t have any Astrophyllite in a larger piece. I highly recommend this piece. The price was really good and the obelisk is everything I hoped for.

Not actually astrophyllite but still pretty
First off, the stone tower I received is not astrophyllite. Astrophyllite is a fairly soft stone, with a hardness of 3 on the Mohs scale. That means it can be scratched by a copper coin. The tower I received is hard enough to scratch glass, so it’s at least a 5.5. I’m not 100 percent sure what it is, but my guess is anthophyllite, which has a similar name and is a 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, possibly mixed with gedrite.That said, the tower itself is pretty. It has a very dark background spotted with bits of reddish and golden brown, and a directed light reveals streaks of iridescence and gold- and silver-colored sparkle. It is also fairly hefty standing as tall as both of my fists stacked together. It’s polished and shaped well.Overall, it’s not astrophyllite, but I still like it.

Large, nicely polished
Crystals are quite the rage for their supposed healing powers.BUt they are also quite beautiful and the seller does a nice job with this. This isn’t actually a ‘crystal’ but a piece of rock with included crystals that has been cut to an obelisk (thing Washington Monument shape) then well polished to a sheen.It’s a great paperweight or display piece on your desk or cocktail table and it is pleasingly heavy and cool to the touch–although a bit smaller than what the seller implies.

Exactly as described; a gorgeous, heavy Astrophyllite Tower
I’m as much of a rock hound as my daughter, but I was waiting for a pretty stone that caught my eye; the MOGEMT Large Astrophyllite Tower is that stunning piece I’ve been looking for. This obelisk has beautiful starlike streaks embedded within the darker crystal and looks like a night of shooting stars. My stone weighs in at 671 grams (1.48 lbs), pretty close to the max for the price point, I love it and the Astrophyllite looks amazing with my collection of agates and other semi-precious stones.The Bottom Line: My daughter was surprised at the price of $30.99 for this 6 Faceted Single Point Firework Stone from MOGEMT; much less expensive than many of the pieces she’s purchased for herself, both online and at our favorite crystal and gem shops. I already know she’s hoping for one as a birthday gift. I know I’d love a couple more for mother’s day.

Arfvedsonite
This specimen is certainly not Astrophyllite as advertised, it’s much too hard. I am pretty sure it’s Arfvedsonite, but I have no way to prove nor disprove this…just saying I can tell it’s way too hard to be what they claim it is. And that seems to be the industry standard. Go search for Astrophyllite anywhere else and you’ll get Arfvedsonite left and right. Search here or there for Arfvedsonite and you’ll get no results lol.I am very happy with this size and weight of a tower for the price…but on ethical principles I gotta dock a star for false advertising!! I am including a photo of the stone so you can see the appearance of it and compare it for size (I wear size medium or small in medical gloves). The stone is a very attractive addition to my crystals collection. It looks good displayed with my large smokey quartz pieces with all the brown, earth tones harmonizing.
